Dawn Group of Newspapers published a special supplement for Sindh on April 22, 2022, spotlighting the province's culture, tradition, progress, and governance. It is an honor for me to have contributed 11 illustrations to this unique edition, featuring prominent personalities, iconic architectures, and landmarks that encapsulate the essence of Sindh. The coverage of music in Sindh includes Young Stunners, the street rappers from Lyari, Karachi, who have globally represented Pakistan, along with the legendary Abida Parveen. Abida Parveen, a Pakistani singer and musician known for her Sufi music, referred to as the 'Queen of Sufi music,' she has received numerous accolades, including Pakistan's second-highest civilian award, Nishan-e-Imtiaz, in 2012, and the highest civilian award, Hilal-e-Imtiaz, in March 2021. A special mention is dedicated to the artist Sadequain for his significant contributions to the fields of art and calligraphy. Syed Sadequain Ahmed Naqvi, often referred to as Sadequain Naqqash, remains one of Pakistan's finest painters and calligraphers. He received prestigious awards such as Tamgha-e-Imtiaz in 1960, Sitara-e-Imtiaz in 1980, and posthumously, Nishan-i-Imtiaz in 2021. In recognition of Sindh's social reforms, heartfelt tributes were paid to welfare reformers Abdul Sattar Edhi, Ruth Pfau, and Sobo Giyanchandani for their selfless services and unwavering commitment to the betterment of the people of Pakistan. Lastly, the supplement acknowledges the politicians of the then Sindh government.
